I am leaving this page and other “vegan” pages on here to show my previous view, and what I have come to realize about nutrition and the human physiology.
B12 is found in its most bioavailable form not in sprays bearing 2000% of your daily value and DEFINITELY as stated below not in sprays made with synthetic toxic vitamins. Nevertheless, any vitamin out there has been pulled from its organism of source and extracted in some way, then mixed with something like 50 different “whole foods” that you don’t need and have to hope to be as organic as “organic” is said to be. Vitamins are an important subject in my transition to an ethovorous diet. (ethovore= consuming only animal products that come from good intentioned small and community-oriented sources and that is free of abuse, malnutrition, antibiotics, synthetic vitamin supplementation, GMO grain feed, and imprisonment. The dilemma with veganism and vitamins is that plants do have many vitamins that are not present in animal foods, however, those that are present in animal foods, and especially the ones strictly present in animal foods, exist in their most bioavailable state. Fat-soluble vitamins such as A, K, E, and D are present in abundance in clean animal fats. Fatty, small-bodied, and wild fish contain a plethora of vitamins as well as natural antioxidant pigments such as astaxanthin (in salmon) which significantly enhance the bioavailability of these fat-soluble vitamins. Contrast is also significant on this matter to the “farm-raised” salmon, who are “dyed” or supplemented with a cheap synthetic astaxanthin analog. This is to stress the importance of small-farm and community-based organic solidarity systems of food security that can be modular yet function as a whole. We should not depend on 6 entities to feed us food, and when we dare escape their processed food-like trap, and finally begin eating real foods (plants) we start feeling good until they coerce us into the processed side by boycotting and hijacking the vegan industries. Bill gates approves the beyond burger. Otsuka harmaceuticals now owns daiya (I call it dieya) leading processed vegan cheese company. Lab-grown meat is all over mainstream media. The game changers was sourced from a single doctor, a pro-va$$er indeed furiously promoting goitrogenic broccoli until his hair falls off. Veganism is a cleansing diet, not a lifestyle. That is my new opinion. All vegan doctors who don’t speak out on vaccines and in fact promote them along with hybridized starchy frankencrops (corn, soy, wheat, rice, etc), goitrogenic thyroid-debilitating foods (kale, broccoli, spinach, cauliflower, etc brassicaceae excl. wild-type ancestor), fake vitamin sprays with way too much all at once, which does in fact, contrary to the vegan hive-mind, hinder your absorption and especially assimilation in the long term. Eating a serving of scallops, some salmon a few days later, and maybe a couple eggs the next day and some pasture raised small-batch organic, low-heat-clarified ghee on your gluten free alkaline-grain homemade sourdough or in your chaga dandelion coffee with coconut cream and you’ll have effortlessly supplied more than you need for the week. This is a hypothetical scenario from whence there exists many outcomes, but in short, eating a varied diet rich in fruits, easy-to-digest vegetables, good clean meats, eggs, and dairy, is the what seems to be as the healthiest diet now. I could be wrong, but I have found a lot of compelling scientific evidence of which I am preparing to share. Until then, google scholar is your best friend.
WHEN I WAS VEGAN:
B12
Is a vegan diet incomplete? This argument stems from the fact that plants can’t produce vitamin B12, but in truth, animals can’t either. Cobalamin (vitamin B12) has different forms, but all can only be produced by bacteria and their ancient counterpart, archaea. These organisms take in cobalt and create the cobalamin structure of B12. This process naturally occurs anaerobically inside the bovine gastrointestinal tract, producing methane as a byproduct, a greenhouse gas that is 30% more greenhouse destructive than CO2. These microbes are also present in healthy/living soil, and can aerobically produce cobalamin.
Before toxic pesticides and synthetic nitrogen-excessive fertilizers, the soil was teeming with beneficial B12 producing microbes, but in today’s sterile yet putrid world, supplementation is encouraged for vegans and meat-eaters alike, as around 40% of the population is deficient in B12. Not all B12 is created equal, with demand for supplementation escalating, industries began synthesizing B12 as Cyanocobalamin, which does not function properly in the biological system and contains man-made cyanide! There are three other forms of B12; methylcobalamin, adenosylcobalamin, and hydroxocobalamin, and all three of these are naturally occurring and can be used for supplementation. Our bodies can covert adenosylcobalamin and hydroxocobalamin into all the active forms it needs for cell-maintenance, energy production, brain function, immune function, and bone formation. If the lack of one vitamin is grounds for dissing the single most sustainable, healthful, and compassionate diet then the highly deficient and nutritionally void standard American carnist diet should be scrutinized for its low fiber, antioxidant, mineral, phytonutrient, and vitamin content.
K
Vitamin K1: Used by liver for proper blood clotting.
Vitamin K2: All MK compound varieties of vitamin K, useful for organ tissue and bone health. Carries calcium and promotes teeth remineralization.
